About the Presenter:

Thomas has been working in the field of architecture and design for over thirteen years.  Currently, he works as Director of Visualization at VMDO Architects in Charlottesville, Va., where his skills as visualization communicator helps direct, produce, and refine VMDO’s architectural renderings and animation.  Thomas has worked for clients ranging from: Fortune 500 companies, to NCAA Division One sports programs, and from small public schools to some of the most respected universities in America.  It is Thomas’ belief that great architectural visualization has the power to excite clients, push design forward, and even bring exciting new work in the door.

Session Description:

This presentation is designed to give everyone attending an understanding of how architecture firms are currently utilizing the real-time rendering program Lumion to produce high quality renderings and animation entirely in-house.  Thomas will guide the group through the technical side of this process, but always with one eye locked on the artistic approach he feels is paramount to great visualization work.

Learning Objectives:

  • Establish a clear idea of whether or not Lumion seems like a correct fit for your firm’s workflow.
  • Demonstrate how Lumion cleanly integrates with leading architectural modeling programs like Revit and SketchUp.
  • Provide tips and tricks for efficiently producing aesthetically beautiful images in Lumion.
  • Gain an understanding of why professionals should approach visualization work with an artistic eye above all else.
